Zamakona builds a pelagic fishing trawler with Ingeteam propulsion

As an electric integrator, Ingeteam will provide the engineering, supply, start-up and sea testing of the complete hybrid propulsion system for this new ship, including the main propulsion system, the generation system, the power distribution system and the energy storage system
Ingeteam has signed a contract with Zamakona Shipyard for the development of the hybrid-electric system of a new trawler for the Danish shipowner Gitte Henning. The supply of the Ingeteam Group will make it possible to reduce emissions with a more efficient energy production to this new ship, which will be built in the Zamakona shipyard in Santurce and is intended for pelagic fishing.
The company has been selected to be the electric integrator of the new ship, which thanks to the hybrid-electric propulsion system will allow it to have an environmentally friendly high seas fishing. Throughout the design process and the choice of equipment, the focus has been on reducing emissions through reduced power consumption and efficient energy production.
They highlight the engines that will be made in Indiar, driven by the converters also designed by Ingeteam, for the main propulsion system. These engines are characterized by lower electrical losses, more efficient operation throughout the working range and a significant reduction in noise emitted, compared to conventional electric engines, especially at low revolutions. In addition, forward propeller engines will be provided to allow optimal control of energy consumption.
On the other hand, the energy storage system that Ingeteam will provide will enable the energy supply when the load is high and will absorb the excess power of the generators by recharging, when the load is low, even taking advantage of the regenerated energy of the winches during the drag, using it to charge the battery. This will allow the diesel engine to not experience large variations in load, reducing fuel consumption by up to 10%, compared to other conventional solutions on die- electric ships.
Ingeteam contributes to the electrification of the marine industry with the participation in the construction of this type of environmentally friendly ships, with an important experience in the development of zero-emission ship technologies, and hybrid power plant-based propulsion systems.
