Abanca brings together 80% of the New Pescanova stock package under its control

Satisfaction in the business of Vigués in particular and Galician in general, as Abanca has confirmed that it has acquired the important packages of shares held by the Bank of Sabadell and Caixabank of Nueva Pescanova... the Galician bank already accounts for 80% of the total shares of the multinational fishing.

The operation will be formalized in the next few days, by which the banking group chaired by Juan Carlos Escotet will double its shares... by going from 40% of them to 80%.

As Abanca explains, the objective of the operation is "safeguard a company fundamental to Galicia and return the management organs to the Galician community..." the intention of the banking institution ... "to strengthen the company's financial structure and its main areas of corporate and commercial activity."

According to his plan, Abanca will retain an important participation in the New Pescanova ownership to advance the search for an industrial partner to build a long-term value project from Galicia.
