The International Olympic Committee has decided to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games due to the health crisis of the coronavirus, as different media outlets from all over the world have announced.
The President of the IOC, Tomas Bach, has responded to the pressures of the renowned sports federations and sportsmen who called for a postponement of the Games (4 July and 9 August) due to the impossibility of following a training regime in the months seen from the Olympic meeting.
For the time being, it is not known when the Tokyo games would be held, and on some fronts the possibility of them being held in 2022 is cited.
