The Ocean Race 2021-22 announces its route

The next edition of The Ocean Race will visit ten cities throughout the world, including the departure from Alicante in October 2021 and the arrival in Genoa in the summer of 2022.

For the first time, The Ocean Race will have among its fleet the IMOCA 60 class, with fils and high technology, in addition to the VO65 monotypes that had a record performance and provided a competition as equal as it was exciting in 2017- 18, in which it was the most equal edition of all time.

By reopening the design and innovation elements of the race with the IMOCA class, it was of great importance to confirm the route of the race for our teams, as designers seek to optimize performance for all conditions... this route is more uniform and compact, with 38,000 nautical miles, and has two less scales compared to the last edition, but includes two very important stages in the South Ocean, where the crews of IMOCA 60 and VO65 will have the opportunity to join the legendary history of this race.
