This fleet renewal plan was initiated by Mr Antonio Armas Fernández in 2007 from Naviera Armas, continuing with this philosophy in the now new TransMediterranean Arms

The company Armas Transmediterráneo is immersed in an ambitious investment plan that will allow it to renew and modernize its large fleet, closing various structures and lease operations to incorporate these units into its fleet plan which, it may be recalled, was already started in 2016.

In fact, last year, the shipping company incorporated into its fleet two modern ships, points in their categories, the Volcano de Tagoro and the Villa de Teror, which have involved an investment of more than 130 million euros, replacing the ferry City of Cadiz, vessel of 2004 and which was sold in December 2019.

The Tagoro Volcano has been the great novelty of 2019 in terms of high-speed vessels, while the Villa de Teror incorporates an exhaust gas treatment system that reduces nitrogen oxides, in addition to an approved ballast water treatment equipment that is respectful of the marine ecosystem.

In the company's plans for 2020 it is planned to incorporate the new building ship City of Valencia, a ship built in the Italian shipyards of Vissentini and that will be incorporated in June of this same year to the company's fleet through a long-term contract of Time Charter.

This vessel will replace one of the oldest units of the company, operating on one of the main lines of the Balearic Islands, the nightline between Valencia and Palma, significantly increasing the supply of the winery, with 2,564 linear meters of cargo and capacity for 1,000 passengers.

Similarly, in 2021 it is planned to incorporate a 'twin' ship into the Tagoro Volcano, which will involve an additional investment of about 70 million euros, committed with a financing structure outside the perimeter of the TransMediterranean Arms group, for which it has been advised by Alantra.
