Azzurra was today the winner of the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront - Cape Town. The ship of Alberto and Pablo Roemmers has been the best in the waters of Cape Town, although today it has not had to defend the advantage it had in the general as the lack of wind has made it impossible to navigate. The sailboat patrolled by Guillermo Parada rose with the victory and was accompanied on the South African podium by the Phoenix 11 of Hasso Plattner and the Quantum Racing of Doug DeVos with Ed Baird to the cane.
05 / 03 / 2020: Victory in the manga of the day of the Russian "Bronenosec" in the 52 Super Series of Cape Town

The Russian ship wins the only manga of the day, which was marked by a wind of 25 knots and in which Phoenix 11 and Quantum recover land to the Azzurra in the general
Bronenosec flew today at the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront - Cape Town... the ship of the Russian shipowner Vladimir Liubomirov won the only manga that could be disputed in the waters of Cape Town as the famous' Cape Doctor 'wind was on the rise and when the manga was finished there were about 30 knots in the water... Phoenix 11 and Quantum could subtract some points from Azzurra in general before the last day that was disputed tomorrow with the foresight of making two sleeves.
04 / 03 / 2020: "Azurra" continues to dominate and "Platoon" rises to second place in Cape Town

The ship of Harm Müller-Spreer a second and a first while Azzurra increases its leadership over Phoenix 11 with a solid day in Cape Town
Platoon with a second n and a first one gets into the fight for the first place in the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront -Cape Town... Azzurra, of the Argentine shipowners Alberto and Pablo Roemmers, again made a solid day with a fifth and a second and reaffirms in the leadership with a ten-point income on the Phoenix 11 of Hasso Plattner and twelve on the Quantum that is third in general.
The German sailboat led by Harm Müller-Spreer, which has been second on the circuit for three consecutive seasons, had started with very bad foot his season with poor results at the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront - Cape Town. 27 points in the first four sleeves were not to be happy and today they came out in the water with the rabies transformed into performance after taking stock of what happened. They were very solid and the Kostecki-Calafat couple was the one who best read today's complicated race field which, in addition, had two sleeves with a completely different tour as there was a 90-degree wind role from the first to the second.
03 / 03 / 2020: Azurra to take first position in the 52 Super Series Cape Town
Azzurra today took the lead of the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront-Cape Town after making two seconds on the second day of competition. Guillermo Parada's ship now has a two-point advantage over Hasso Plattner's Phoenix 11 that alternated a win and a seventh place. The other manga of the day was won by the Bronenosec by Vladimir Liubomirov, who in Cape Town is patrolled by Morgan Larson.
The Roemmers family ship has built its first position on three pillars: fast boat in all conditions, good tactical decisions and stay away from problems. Stop and their people are not making the most risky decisions that can promise the best benefits, but they are betting to stay away from the risks that this fleet carries in a race field as complicated as that of Cape Town. And the bet offers dividends. Three second positions have solidified their leadership in the competition after Phoenix 11 had mechanical problems in the second race of the day. Without winning a sleeve they are first with a fantastic average of points.
The first manga was a real stream of incidents. Up to four penalties and one collision occurred in that first tranche, which is often significant in the development of any TP52 race. The exit was dominated by the Azzurra and the Provizza on the side of the pin and were leaders before the first turn that became almost past the lay line. Phoenix went out locked up but Hasso Platnner and his team did an excellent job of getting out of traffic and going to find the good side of the race field.
At the crossing they had the preference over Azzurra and Provizza and they faced a first position that they no longer let escape in the sleeve. Azzurra was favored by the penalties suffered by the Protenzza and the two who received the ship of Harm Müller-Spreer in the buoy of barlovento and spent second by the brand.
On the rise there was a collision between the Alegre de Andrés Soriano and the Sled de Takashi Okura. The English ship was the culprit and was punished with two more points and one DNF. Sled also had to leave the race and was compensated with 6 points in the first manga and 5.5 in the second although he could not finish the first and not even start the second for the damage he had on the sailboat.
The second manga was taken by the ship that best came out from the left side of the race field. There was a certain commitment and there he risked Morgan Larson's Bronenosec along with John Cutler's Provider. Azzurra, within his line of keeping out of trouble, left with a lot of free space in the center of the fleet and from there again consolidated his third second place. Phoenix 11 had technical problems from the exit with a pedestal of his sailboat and went to trailer throughout the sleeve. He ended seventh in a hard battle with the Protenzza in the final meters of the manga. The one who improved in the second race of the day was the Platoon that ended in the third position after taking advantage of more intensity on the left side of the race field in the last corner.
Two new sleeves are planned for today from 12.30 p.m. in South Africa.
02 / 03 / 2020: Phoenix, Azzurra and Sled the podium in Cape Town after the first day

Hasso Plattner and its Phoenix 11 are the first leader of the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront - Cape Town with a win and a third. Azzurra second in the general, while Alegre wins the second sleeve
For the first time in the history of the 52 Super Series, from tomorrow until Friday there is a race in African waters... and it will be with the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 Super Series V & A Waterfront -Cape Town, the first of the two events that the competition will be fighting in South Africa in just over a month.
Tomorrow the curtain rises to the ninth season of the competition which is longer than usual with six events, two in South Africa, two in Italy and two in Spain. There will be ten ships of eight different nationalities. Azzurra defends the title he obtained last season thanks to consistency. He didn't win any of the five calendar dates, but he was second on four of them. It's not about alternating light and failure.
The training race in Cape Town waters could not be held today. Several presalids were given with about eight knots of unstable wind but when you wanted to make a full sleeve the wind fell and Maria Torrijo, the head of the Regatas Committee, decided to end the day before the start.
