Alinghi seeks to defend his titles as GC32 World Champion and GC32 Racing Tour Champion, but Jorand points out that this year the game is slightly different because the GC32 World Championship is more advanced the season: from 19 to 20 September in the Italian town of Villaimius
The GC32 Racing Tour 2020 begins in March in the Omani town of Mascate with the GC32 Oman Cup, first of the five events that will decide the champion of the seventh season of the GC32 flying catamaran circuit... the best teams have already confirmed their participation in the first date of the year, including the title defender, the Swiss Alinghi.
During the 2019 season, two teams starred in a fierce duel for the glory of the GC32 Racing Tour. The Oman Air sponsored by Adam Minoprio was imposed in the first and third circuit event, while the Alinghi of Ernesto Bertarelli took the second and fourth, including the world title of the GC32 World Championship disputed in Lagos, Portugal.
This division of triumphs presented an exciting final act in which either of them chose absolute victory. Alinghi proclaimed himself a champion with a brilliant triumph at the GC32 Oman Cup held in November.
