The support of the Canarian Socialists, with Casimiro Curbelo at the head, to the Fonsalia project, is total

According to the prestigious canary of La Provincia, the spokesperson of the Socialist Group of the European Union Gomera, recorded on Thursday a "proposal not of law"in the Canary Autonomous Chamber in order to promote the construction of the port of Fonsala in Guía de Isora, Tenerife, a "key infrastructure for the economy and mobility of the Western islands", point.

The initiative aims at the State Government initiating the necessary cooperation with the other administrations to promote the implementation of the said infrastructure valued at 200 million... this would improve the maritime connectivity of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, as well as enhance the economic development of the south-west of Tenerife.

On the other side of the shore the Ecologists in Action, which is under the motto of "No to the port of Fonsalia" are organizing against this construction:The Port of Fonsala is a macro-port project for commercial, sports and fishing use that is intended to be built in Guía de Isora, in the coastal cores of Alcalá, Playa de San Juan and the TF-47 road, in the south-west of Tenerife (Canary Islands). In the procedure of this project, irregularities have been identified. The most serious is that a project has been first designed without a previous territorial plan (called the Partial Territorial Plan) in which the port is located. In other words, the legally established procedure has not been followed.

For this group: The dam for the commercial port, 739 meters long, would house 4 ships with the possibility that in its final section a zone can be enabled to attract cruises for which have designed four alignations of between 115- 175 meters. It also provides two explanates with capacity for 820 cars, or 297 trucks or platforms, in addition to the building of the Maritime Station that would occupy 4,000 m ² and would have 270 parking spaces. The sports dársena would have a curved coat dam of about 840 meters and an explanade of 5.5 hectares for leisure area and floating pants for more than 460 boats. A channel of about 65 meters wide would separate the curved and the coat dike from the port dársena, and the platform of land for the high-length yacht docking and the port service. It would be attached to the coast by a bridge of 122 meters long with four lanes of circulation and side sideways for pedestrian transit. It also includes the construction of a fishing dock
