Onda Fuerteventura reports that to the invitation to tender the Phase I of the Extension of the Port of Corralejo, the Councillor of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the public entity Ports Canarios, has brought to the invitation to tender some works that come out to competition for 2,539,268 euros, and with which it is expected to double the current number of docks for fishing and sports vessels in the interior of the port.
They will focus mainly on the acquisition and installation of new pants up to nine, which will make it possible to reach 423, 207 more than the current ones. At present the five pants of this port offer 216 hikes to recreational, sports and fishing vessels mainly, but due to the tourist development of the town, the demand for hikes in the interior dársena has been fired in recent years generating a waiting list close to the 100 boats.
The trousers are made up of 12-meter modules with tropical wood or resin pavement and aluminium structure, as well as the fingers, support elements to the ground-set docking. In addition, the performance includes the disassembly, removal and reassembly of the current pants by updating the existing services in them.

These works also include improvements to the concrete docking area used by commercial lines and for the Civil Guard vessels. In addition, in the future Pantalán 1, a space will be created for the point-of-the-boat of more than 13.5 meters in length, and more than 300 meters of line for the side of the ship.
The deadline for the implementation of the works is eight months after the signing of the redraft with the undertaking which is awarded, and it is therefore expected that the extension of the Port of Corralejo will be available at the beginning of 2021.
