Pese a la quiebra de Vulcano y los problemas de Barreras las cifras del Naval del sur de Galicia son esperanzadoras

Despite the bankruptcy of Vulcano and the problems of Barreras the figures of the Naval of the south of Galicia are hopeful

According to the Vigués newspaper "Atlántico Diario, the naval goes at two speeds in Spain. As the sector stagnates throughout the national territory, in Vigo it grows. In the last year, Galicia - with the Vigo axis - Marin of private shipyards - tripled its weight at state level. At the end of 2019 it represented 61% of the Spanish order portfolio and in 2018 it was only 30% (27%), according to data from the General Secretariat of Industry and Pyme of the Ministry of Industry.

This is due to the sector's outage in the rest of the country with a downward activity compared to previous exercises while in Vigo the shipyards are stable despite several casualties: Vulcano in liquidation and Barreras that drag more than four months away.

Official data show this: in 2019 the order portfolio in Spain was 45 contracts, the lowest figure in the last eight years. We should go back until 2011, when in the middle of the tax lease crisis, 39 ship buildings were accounted for, while the record of the last decade was given in 2017 with 61 contracts in force. During this period, Vigo has remained stable, bringing together around 20 contracts while the rest of the communities have been losing weight.
