50 years later, Monte Real organizes the Galician Championship of Optimist

Baiona was a pioneer in the promotion of the optimist at the national level, by the hand of José Gandara in 1968... two years later the first Galician of the class was held...
This weekend, Baiona welcomes the celebration of the gold weddings of the Galician Championship of Optimist, which will make its 50 years of life at Mount Real Club de Yates, the club that saw it born in 1970 with the organization of its first edition.
Among the participants of clubs such as the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo, the Real Nautical Club of Vigo, the Maritime Club of Canido, the Real Nautical Club of Rodeira, the Real Nautical Club of La Coruña or the Monte Real Club of Yates, among others will be the regatists who lead the Galician ranking after the previous classifications... the first five are Mencía Casas (Sanxenxo), Andrés Barreiro (Canido), Pablo Astiazaran (Vigo), Pablo Rodríguez (Rodeira) and Jane (Canido).
The Saturday will be the first day of competition, the day will begin with the measurements and delivery of documentation to the participants... a meeting of coaches will be held later and from two in the afternoon will begin the tests.
