The absolute domain of Diego Botín and Iago López Marra in 49er with five first in eight tests... Tamara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló show full face-to-world

The Oceania Championship again served as an antecedent of the World Championship of the classes 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17, and held four days in Geelong, Australia. The Spanish performance has been brilliant, leading two of the three podios of a competition that serves as a tantage for the world that will be held next week (10-15 February), and that despite considering it as a training has shown the power of the Spanish pre-Olympic team.

In 49er, Diego Botín and Iago López Marra (Quirón Salud) have not given their rivals options, adding a total of five first in eight disputed tests. They share podium with the most pomegranate of the class, New Zealanders Burling / Tuke and Beck / Gunn, and leave out many other candidates for the world title, although the supremacy of the Spaniards in this previous quote makes clear their options, with 12 points on the second and 27 points on the third.

Tamara Echegoyen and Paula Barceló also sign a first in 49er FX. For this class and for the Nacra 17 the first day was left blank by the strong wind rachas, and in the start the girls of the Movistar team ended up in a quadruple tie to one point of the podium, in seventh position. In the next round of races, a 1-2-1 took the Spanish to the first temporary position, which have finished today with a 1-3-1 to finish at 12 points from the New Zealand Maloney / Meech, and 32 from the Melzacka / Loboda Polacas.
