Javier de la Gandara's Okofen remains the leader of the J80 Winter League of Mount Real Club of Yates that this afternoon held its third day in Baiona. The aspirant to revalidate the title of the previous edition managed to consolidate his leadership despite not achieving the expected results and being overshadowed by the Alboroto de Juan Carlos Ameneiro, which was certainly the best of the day.
With the Spanish champion of J80 Javier Aguado on board; and Juan José Lago and Javier Lago completing equipment, the Alboroto de Ameneiro signed two of the three wins that were held today in the bay of Baionesa. He did not get over the Okofen in general, but he did get on the second position of the provisional podium and shorten distances with the leader, from which only six points are separated.
Emotion in the water and emotion also in the preparation of the classifications, as the entry into play of a discard, which allowed the crews to remove from the classification its worst result so far, left the numbers much more adjusted for the two final stages, to be held next day 21 and 4 March.

08 / 02 / 2020: Gandara takes Okofen to the head of the Winter League of J80 in Baiona
The Okofen patronized by Javier de la Gandara, aspiring to revalidate the title of the competition, was placed on Saturday leader of the J80 Winter League of Mount Real Club of Yates... he did so after achieving two first positions in the three trials disputed during which he was the second of the five rounds scheduled in the winter league of monotypes.
In the first manga the domain of Gandara was notorious, being Ay Carmela of Juan Pazó, from the Maritime Liceo of Bouzas, the second; and the Cansino of Nano Yáñez, the third.
In the second test, which was already a little more tight, the Okofen repeated victory. The Due's crew, led by Fernando González, from the Royal Nautical Club of Portosin; and the Namasté de Luis de Mira, from Mount Real, were left second and third respectively... on which was the last manga of the day the Namasté was won, followed by the Okofen and the Alboroto.
Thus, with the three punctuable tests of this second day added to the two of the first day the Okofen of Javier de la Gandara is placed, with 7 points, in the first position, taking away the lead to the Alboroto of Javier Aguado, which this Saturday was patrolled by his shipowner Juan Carlos Ameneiro, and that goes third in the general with 26 points. The provisional silver is for the Cansino of Nano Yáñez, with 24 points, to 17 of the leader.

The Alboroto became the first leader of the Winter League J80 this afternoon after being imposed on the rest of the sailing boats in the inaugural day of the competition organized by the Monte Real Club of Yates... the J80 Juan Carlos Ameneiro and patroniado by the Spanish champion Javier Aguado managed to rise to the top of the classification after signing a second and a first place in the two tests held in the bay.
The first test was for the Alboroto by Javier Aguado and the Okofen by Javier de la Gandara was second. And the second test reversed the results. Alboroto and Okofen were certainly the protagonists of a day that ended up tied to 3 points in first and second position respectively.
The crew of the Pazo de Cea, patroniada by María Campos, complete the provisional podium with 10 points, followed very closely by the Cansino de Fernando Yáñez, with 11 points, and the Maija de José Luis Pérez with 13.

24 / 01 / 2020: J80 de Galicia, Asturias, Madrid, Menorca and Portugal compete in Baiona
Tomorrow Saturday is held in Baiona the first of the five days of the J80 Inverno League that the fleet of monotypes of Mount Real Club of Yates will be held on various weekends until next April.
The great favorite will be the Okofen of Javier de la Gandara, along with the Cansino patroniado by Fernando Yáñez and the Miudo of Carlos Hernández, in which students of the School of Sailing of Mount Real will alternate... the three occupied the first places in last year's edition.
Along with the usual Namasté de Luis de Mira, Luna Nueva de Juan Luis Tuero, Maija de José Luis Pérez or Spaco de Santiago Estévez, among others, this year will enter into competition sailing boats such as the Due de Portosín, armed by Fernando García; the Picacho in which the Vigués Miguel Lago returns to the class J80; or the Alboroto de Juan Ameneiro, which this Saturday will be the patron of the Portuguese champion Javier Aguado of J80.
Thus up to a total of 16 participants from Galicia, Asturias, Madrid, Menorca and Portugal will be in charge of premiere, this Saturday, the year of regatta in Baiona.
The design of the days shall be identical to that of previous occasions. If the weather allows, at each stage, three double-round barlovent routes will be held. They will be between 2 and 3 miles away so that the crews can demonstrate their value in two fences, two sops and several buoys maneuvers... this year, as a novelty, there will be direct judgment in the water, with the presence of a judge who will rule on the ground on the protests that may arise during the conduct of the tests... another of the changes that are introduced in this 2020 are the holding of pre-competition pattern meetings, in the Monte Real Club of Yates itself, and talks of regulations once the tests have been completed.
