The Catalan and the Galician stand up with the victory in the Medal Race in a race that has received the halagos of all the competitors and that gives them the gold in the World Cup Series in Miami... this is the second consecutive triumph of the Spanish team of 470 men in a World Cup (after that of Enoshima 2019)

Impressive regatta of Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodríguez at the World Cup in Miami to rise with the gold, revalidating last year's title in 470 M... which catapult to the couple leaving the quarries of the Nautic Club Cambrils and the Real Nautical Club of Vigo, respectively, to success in Tokyo 2020.

Staying and nerves in Vizcaine Bay in front of a Medal Race in which everything was possible, with the Spaniards at 4 points of triumph in fourth position and a wind that did not go from 4 knots to the time scheduled for the race. Finally, the wind went up and started the show.. and it was to cross the line and make use of months of preparation and quality to get the head of the fleet, defending positions against the pressure and the good making of the Japanese teams that have fought to the end by dancing the podium positions, to have to finally surrender to the Spanish supremacy.

The Xammar and Rodríguez calendar passes through Palma de Mallorca where, in March, the 470 World Championship will be held.

After a delay waiting for the wind to start, the Laser fought their Medal Race with an average wind of 10 knots. Joaquín Blanco (R.C.N. Gran Canaria) finished in fifth position, closing the championship with an eighth place. The gold has been for Peruvian Stefano Peschiera.

17 / 01 / 2020: World Cup Series of Miami... essential quote for the Spanish pre-Olympics of 470 and Laser

Los españoles, en buena forma tras los intensos entrenamientos de los últimos meses, irán a por todas, pero todo augura que la victoria se venderá cara en una cita que pone el marcador a cero de cara a los Juegos Olímpicos

The Spaniards, in good shape after the intense training of the last few months, will go for all, but all the augurs that victory will be sold face on a quote that puts the score to zero for the Olympic Games

The countdown for Tokyo 2020 and the 470 males begins. The World Cup Series of Miami will premiere next Monday with the participation of two Spanish crews of the pre-Olympic team: Jordi Xammar / Nicolás Rodríguez in 470 male and Joaquín Blanco in Laser... in this class also the Spanish Guillermo Flores participates.

With the Catalan Jordi Xammar of the Nàutic Cambrils and the Galician Nicolás Rodríguez of the Nautico de Vigo, seconds in the international ranking of the class, their main enemies will again be the Australians Mat Belcher and Will Rayan, as well as the Swedes Anron Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergström, against whom they have fought for the main titles during the last 12 months and with whom they regularly share podium.

In addition, the three ships that took the podium last year in front of the power of the Spanish crew of Xammar- Rodríguez remeasure forces in the back account for Tokyo 2020: the Swedish Anton Dahlberg and Fredik Bergström and the Japanese Daichi Takayama and Taiyo Nakamura,

The Laser fleet, which includes Joaquín Blanco del Náutico de Gran Canaria and the Andalusian Guillermo Flores del Náutico Río Piedras, will be the largest, with an important deployment of the American countries in search of the continental Olympic square. Thus, Canada will have twelve regatists, Mexico four and Antigua two.

The Spanish will look for a good place and measure forces with a view to the World Cup of Genoa in April, where it will be Spain that pursues the Olympic passport of the class... the races will begin on Monday and will continue until Saturday, the day on which the final races, the Medal Race, of each class will be held, uncovering the final winners.
