The 2020 race calendar of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club began with the first day of the Social Trophy for ships of the Regata class, Cruise and J80.
The 'Maitena', in its thirteen-mile test held on Saturday in the Abra waters on a sunny day with a south component of 6 to 12 knots, used just over two and a half hours and took almost seven minutes to the 'Rat Pack' of Javier-varri. Third was the Alpega of Alfonso Churruca and then the Tchin Tchin, Symphony, Akelarre, Modark and Gaitero were classified.
Already in Cruise I won the 'hang Loose', which leads the classification ahead of the 'Marmotinha', 'Bacilón', 'Nexus', 'Kantarepe Iru', 'Chicharro' and 'Free Spirit'. The 'Rooster', who already won this test last year, begins as a leader in Cruise II after winning on the seven-mile tour, with the second 'Kohen', the third 'Turi', the fourth 'Ramper' and the fifth 'Emilu'.
The J80 class monotypes, on their side, regateated on Sunday and opened their season with a south-east wind of 8 to 14 knots. They completed the three planned quotes and after them led the I Social Trophy the 'Freus' of Christian Jauregui with 6 points, the same as the 'Mandovi' of Ramón Zubiaga. Both crews made a first, a second and a third position, but the 'Freus' became a leader by having won the last tour. A single point from the first two is the "Jet Set 'of Ibon Basañez. Fourth is the' Obelix 'of Pablo Gomeza, fifth the' Hib-Brut 'of Juan Mocoroa, sixth the' Pilgrim 'of José Luis Ribed and seventh the' Siemens Gamesa 'of Lourdes Bilbao.
