6 opponents to the K4 500 that will be in Tokyo 2020 a selection marching

If the K4 500 does not win medal in the First World Cup, the Technical Commission does not rule out a new selection process
The palists Saul Craviotto, Carlos Arévalo, Marcus Cooper Walz, Rodrigo Germade, Carlos Garrote and Cristian Toro are the six athletes who will fight to compete in Tokyo in the Spanish K4 500, whose crew will be chosen through a selection process with individual controls and a later duel between two K4 boats, whose winner will compete at the I World Cup from 8 to 10 May, in which their occupants could secure the square.
Spain, which also classified the K2 1,000 meters, obtained 7 places in male kayak for Tokyo, although only 6 will be able to go due to the established limit. The classification criteria established by the Spanish Federation of Piragüismo provide for four phases to determine the representation of the male national team in the K4 500 and K1 200 tests during the next Olympic meeting, in which four palists will have to cover both tests.
The first phase begins in January in Seville with regular concentrations to prepare different ships; the second one provides individual controls to form combinations and sets a selective K4 500; the third influence on ownership for the JJOO, and the fourth one addresses the period from the dispute of the I World Cup (8-10 May) to the Olympic citation next August.
The six palists involved in the process have gained ownership in the years 2017 to 2019, all being subchampions of the world with the K4 500.
The selection process to determine the Spanish K4 500 boat that will compete in Tokyo initially establishes two options, one for the crew resulting from the individual selective - which will comprise the first and the second classified palist of the K1 200, the first of the K1 400 and a fourth occupant proposed by the K4 technician - and one for the leading crew of the K4 500 world subchampion in 2019 - provided that Craviotto, Arévalo, Cooper and Germade are classified between the first 5 of the average between K1 200 and K1 400-. Otherwise control will be performed with the first 4 of the average K1 200 and K1 400.
