La Vela Española points to the Sailing Champions League
During the celebration of the Nautical Clubs Symposium, the president of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, Julia Casanueva, announced the entry of Spain into the Sailing Champions League, the largest international competition at the level of sailing clubs.
Born in Germany in 2013, La Sailing Champions League already has 20 countries attached to it that, following a national League, are measured with the best international clubs in a series of races in search of the best race club in the world.
After several years of weighing the opportunity, the support of State Lotteries and Stateholders allows our country to enter the international event.
The Bayona Royal Yacht Club will host the first national meeting between 13 and 15 December, while the Arenal Nautical Club will take over and close this first edition between 14 and 16 February.
The number of applicants who have placed a strong bet rises day by day and there are already eight teams that have confirmed their attendance, representing the Real Club Nautico de Gran Canaria, Real Club Nautico de Calpe, Real Club Nautico de Valencia, Real Club Nautico Campello, Club Nautico Arenal, Real Club Nautico de la Coruña, Real Club Nautico de Palma and Club Náutic El Balís.
