The Kite and the gilded boat enter the Olympic panorama and the iFoil will replace the RS: X class in windsurfing

The annual General Meeting of the highest organ of the International Sailing has announced the sailing disciplines that will take part in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The proposal submitted and approved by the International Council had to be ratified, as the statutes governing this highest agency of the day indicate, at the annual General Meeting held these days in the Bermuda Islands.

The list of categories that will be Olympic class in the JJ.OO. from Paris 2024 is as follows:

Windsurfing (men) - iFoil
Windsurfing (women) -iFoil
Dynghy for a person (men) - Laser
Dynghy for a person (women) - Laser Radial
Skiff (women) - 49erFX
Skiff (men) - 49er
Kite (mixed) - Formula Kite
Dynghy for two people (mixed) - 470
Multicasco for two people (mixed) - Nacra 17
Stylish Cruise for two people (mixed):

The most significant change over the categories that will currently take part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games occurs in the Windsurf class, where the RS: X category has been replaced by the iFoil category.

The Royal Spanish Vela Federation will start working on these new Olympic modalities at the start of 2020.
