The City of Palamós has paid tribute to the young regatists of the CN Costa Brava / Vela Palamós, the brothers Rubén and Rita Booth, who have recently proclaimed themselves the world champions of the Nacra 15 class in the waters of Marseille (France). Mayor Lluís Puig, accompanied by the sports councilman Joan Barba and the president and vice-president of the CN Costa Brava / Vela Palamós Eduard Sallés and Miquel Avignó, respectively, delivered a commemorative plaque on behalf of the city for the world title obtained.

Ruben and Rita Booth, aged 19 and 17, are sons of the Palamosense Ángels Ferrando and the double Australian Olympic medalist Mitch Booth (silver medal in Atlanta 96 and Bronze in Barcelona 92 in the Tornado class). The Nacra 15 class is the last step before taking the leap to the Olympic class Nacra 17, so the crew of the CN Costa Brava / Vela Palamós has a promising future ahead of them thinking above all at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, and will have as its subheadquarters precisely the city of Marseille, in the same place where the Booth have risen to the top of the podium.

The mayor of the Palamós Vila, Lluís Puig, was in charge of handing over a badge to the Booth brothers for this success and that places the name of Palamós at the top of the world's sport. Ruben and Rita together with their father Mitch and their older brother, Jordi - who ended up in seventh place in the same world together with Janneke Fock- have specialized since young people in multipurpose navigation, achieving great results in other classes such as the F18.
