The Organizing Committee of the Abanca Week decided on Thursday afternoon to cancel the Cup of the Cantábrico de Bateles, which with the Trophy Concello de Viveiro in play should have been held on Saturday organized by the Club Marítimo de Vigo, with the support of the Club de Remo Celeiro. The reason the strong winds on the coast look, which according to predictions will exceed 25 knots, which makes it impossible for type competitions to be held.

This is why the Abanca Week in terms of rowing will be reduced to the Galicia Concello de Marín Cup, which will take place next week. A competition that will again beat record in terms of participation... in 2018 the 60 crews were reached. Well this year, it is already on the verge of the 80 crews!, and this was confirmed by the Galician Federation of Remo, which is surprised by such participation. This will cause the Organization to have to change the time of the competition, since from 6 in the afternoon the lack of light is evident.

The important participation of women was also news in the Galicia Cup. Here too, two hundred athletes, in a little more than 30 batels, have been registered. This figure has never been achieved in a competition of the kind in Spanish waters.

Complete this spectacular edition of the Galicia Cup, the award of the awards to the Galician rowing, which will take place after the rowing competitions in the auditorium Illa de Tambo in the Villa de Marín. After the rowing of the Abanca Week, the sailing shift will take place in the Grand Port organized by the Atlantic Sailing Club of Leixóes: the International Meeting of Matosinhos that will take place on 7 and 8 next December.
