With the organization of the Club Nàutic Cambrils was held the forty-third edition of the Regata de Cruises Los Roques- Gran Prix Protego... in line of departure ten ships that competed in RI, in the considered heavy sailing test, with the most tradition of the Club Nàutic Cambrils and one of the oldest in Catalonia.
The race began on Saturday at 10: 30 in the morning with the registration of participants and breakfast, to give the sign of the first test, the journey to the Tortosa lighthouse.
After more than 9 hours of navigation and 20 miles, five of the ships completed in route within the time limit set by the judges... it is necessary to highlight the bravery of the crews, which had to endure complicated conditions of sea and wind.
The second test was held on Sunday and motivated by the lack of wind, the judges shortened the course.
The winner was the "Arosa XI" of the Nàutic Club of Hospitalet-Vandelòs, patroniado by Fernando García, which was also proclaimed the Champion of Catalonia of RI... the second position was for the "Miriapodo" of the Real Nautical Club of Barcelona, with Lluís Romeo a la rea.. the third position was the "Món de l'Ona II," of the Nútic Cambrils, of Ramon Cañellas.
