The Real Club Náutico de Vigo, through its vice president José Antonio Portela, has received at 14: 45 today the explorer Navarro Álvaro de Marichalar in the pants of the sports dársena of the Vigués port.

The navigator, who began his return to the world in Seville on 10 August in tribute to the fifth centenary of the circumnavigation of Magallanes and Elcano, accessed the club just over three hours after what was expected (he sailed on a water bike from Porto, in its ninth stage) due to an electrical problem in his Bombardier "Numancia" which he himself managed to repair. The bike, with an extra deposit of 140 litres, has an autonomy of 200 miles.

"As I set sail from Porto and at the ten miles travelled, I have stopped the engine; I sail quite in the open sea, it was about three miles from the coast and I have managed to repair this failure, although I have taken an hour and a half," Marichalar said already on the ground. Moreover, "the sea was not too good and it took two hours more than planned to reach Vigo in the ninth stage of this expedition around the world that I started on August 10 in Seville and restarted on September 20 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda following the stela of Elcano and Fernando de Magallanes," he explained.
