The Maritime of Vigo recovers a historical piece of the Naval Week of Vigo 1939
The Club Marítimo de Vigo has recovered for its historical collection a piece made of silver and enamelled, which they artisanal made in 1939 the Viguese workshops of Ramón Fernández, which together with those of Malde that were also in Santiago de Compostela, as well as Fernandez in La Coruña... were for decades the maximum reference of the plateaus and jewelers of Galicia.
The historic piece was delivered in the Naval Week of Vigo, a multinational competition that organized the Maritime of Vigo and the Real Nautical Club of Vigo, with the support of the Military Naval School of Marin, the dean of the Galician candle... the Real Club of Galicia Regatas of Arosa, the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña and the Naval Commission of Regatas of Ferrol.
In Vigo Week, there was competition in rowing, swimming, waterpolo and sailing... the participation in that far year, there were clubs such as the Real Club Marítimo del Abra, the Real Sporting Club, the Real Club Marítimo de Santander, the Real Club de Regatas de Santander, the Real Club Astur de Regatas, the Club Canoe de Madrid... and many other things that remained standing in our Spain.
The Marítimo de Vigo Club, would disappear in 1945 absorbed by the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... the Spain of the victors and victors handed down sentence... and the victors did not forgive the Marítimo that its president, Agustín Rivas Villanueva, would have led the candidacy of the Republican Left in Vigo, in the elections of 36.
