The 29th edition of the School of Sailing Trophy José Luis de Ugarte, sponsored by Fashion Outlet, ended in the waters of the Inner Abra... organized by the Spanish Sailor Cathedral, by the Royal Abra Maritime Club-Real Sporting Club, concluded in a day with many difficulties with the wind.

After the second day of regatta, the regatist of Santander Javier Torcida was imposed in the class general Optimist ahead of his companions Juan Salas and Candela Escobedo, who completed a podium of which the hondarribitarra Adriano Vázquez and the local regatist Gabriel Oraá remained outside. The José Luis de Ugarte School of Sailing Trophy, sponsored by Fashion Outlet, celebrates its twenty-ninth edition this weekend in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra. More than 200 regatists will sail the Basque light candle in one of the competitions par excellence. They will compete in the Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial, 420, Snipe and FEVA classes, to show their learning, skills and enormous hobby in a race that honors José Luis de Ugarte, the historic navigator who died 11 years ago and has always named this outstanding sports event and the School of Sailing of the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club.

The waters of the Abra will project a year more than special image with tens and dozens of small boats in liza, with the regatists of the future seeking victory in one of the evidence reference in this modality... the test was presented by Eduardo García Santamarina, sports director of the Abra and Estíbaliz Amilibia, managing director of Megapark.

This competition has become, in its now 29 years of existence, one of the most important races of the specialty of light sailing in the Cantabrian Sea. With a great participation, which will exceed two hundred regatists, in this XXIX Trophy School of Sailing José Luis of Ugarte- Fashion Outlet are gathered every September the promises of the candle. In this new edition we expect a remarkable attendance of participants, with Basque regatists, Cantabros and Asturians sailing to achieve the best positions in the different classes... Saturday they will start the sleeves from one in the afternoon and Sunday at 11: 30 in the morning.

In the last edition of 2018, in the class Optimist was imposed the hondarribitarra Álex Amunarriz, the cantabre Mario Cabanas in Laser Radial, his partner Martín García in Laser 4.7, and the Vizcayos Peru and Joana Abásolo in the class 420, Nerea Alvarez and Arantxa Sellhorn in FEVA and Rafael Martínez Bourio and Gonzalo Ituri in the class Snipe.
