Great success of the Pyragüism on the Viguese track of the ETEA (Photo Pedro Seoane)

The Club Mar Ria de Aldán, the cradle of large Olympics of the Spanish Olympic Pyragüism, has been proclaimed to two thousand people on the ETEA track winning the Vigo Concello Trophy within the Abanca Week. The Pontevedrés club won with great advantage in the total computation of the Galician Championship-Xunta Trophy of Galicia, leaving the silver for the O Grove Breogan and the bronze for the Ribadumia Muíño.

The event organized by the Galician Federation of Piragüismo, the Marítimo Club of Vigo and the Club of Olívico Piragüismo, was a great success despite the very strong winds at times and the persistent rain, which did not prevent the veils of ETEA from being filled with spectators and participants, setting up a great show.

In the individual classifications, the pontevedreses palists took the oars... well except for one that was for the O Barco Fluvial... with respect to the plates and the bronzes were distributed among the four provinces. To highlight in the category Queen of Alevín A, the Cabanas Club of La Coruña, which achieved silver and bronze, while gold was for Pontevedra.

The clubs that achieved metals were those of O Barco-Ourense, Portonovo, Aldán, Catoria, Vigo, Cambados, Tui, Lugo, Vilagarcía, Verducido and Cabanas- La Coruña, Pontevedra, Pontesampaio.

At the closing ceremony, the Secretary of Sports of the Xunta of Galicia José Ramón Lete Lasa and the town council member Manel Fernández attended about 2,000 people. At the beginning of the event they received a Vigo jacket from Manel Fernández world tricampoons Ivan Alonso and Jaime Sobrado to take to China, their next scale to participate in the World Marathon Championship representing Spain. 20 / 09 / 2019: Abanca Week: 600 palists and 30 cruises in the third and last act of the Concello de Vigo Trophy

600 palists from the four Galician provinces participate on Saturday on the ETEA track in the third act of the Abanca Week, in the Vigo Trophy of Piragüismo that on this occasion will be dedicated to the kayak on track, with boys and girls Alevines, Benjamin and PreBenjamin. The organization in charge of the Galician Federation of Piragüismo, the Maritime Club of Vigo and the Club of Olívico Piragüismo, in a competition that has the rank of Galician-Xunta Championship of Galicia. On Sunday it is the turn of the cruises, the heavy sail with the Trophy Villa de Bouzas- Concello de Vigo that organizes the vicedecano of the Galician nautical, the Bouzas Maritime Liceo with the support of the Marítimo de Vigo, and that brings together a thirty Galician and Portuguese ships.

The pyragüism tests should have been disputed on Saturday morning, but the sports authorities in the face of the prediction of strong winds, has been chosen because the sleeves are held from 4: 00 in the afternoon, the closure and delivery of medals to the edge of the seven. The Federation has appointed Marta Felpeto as the chief judge, who will be in Tokyo 2020 as the sole representative of Spanish Pyragüism judges at the Olympics.

To highlight the Vigo Trophy of Piragüismo Base, the spectacular participation... the largest category of the Benjamin, with 63 girls and 111 boys... in allevines has had to be divided by age in groups A and B, being the global, but together they will be more than three hundred between both sexes.

The strongest a priori teams will be the historic river in the province of Lucense. By Ourense the three "fluvial": Barco de Valdeorras, Allariz and Castrelo de Miño. By La Coruña the clubs of Miño, Boiro, Cabañas, Narón, Rianxo, Ames and As Xubias of the capital are in competition and by Pontevedra no less than 18 clubs of all the litotal and interior: Pontecuures, Verdudo, Aldán, Catoira, Tui, Pontesampaio, Marin, Cambados, Vilagaría, Ribadumia, Portonovo, Vilaboa, Vigo and Pontevedra. From the capital will be the Naval Club of Pontevedra and the City of Pontevedra.

It is planned between sleeves, an exhibition of the spectacular "dragons" acquired by the Secretariat of Sport of the Galician executive, as well as the presence at the closing event of the world champions Ivan Alonso and Jaime Sobrado, before leaving for China where they will represent Spain in the Marathon World Championship.
