Cape Verde will become the second place in Africa to visit the race and the first nation in West Africa to host the event, recognized as "the hardest team challenge" in the world of sport... The Ocean Race's VO65 and IMOCA 60 fleets will be located in the Porto Grande de Mindelo, at a stop that will be one of the shortest of the events.

The selection of headquarters for the 2021-22 edition of The Ocean Race is coming to an end, and more places will be announced in the coming weeks, to conclude with the announcement of the complete route of the race.
