The collaboration of CEACNA will consist in the organization of basic sailing races dedicated to honouring the memory of Fernando de Magallanes, Juan Sebastián Elcano and the rest of the expedition that participated in the circumnavigation, a fact that was a turning point in the history of Spain and of humanity.

The Spanish Confederation of Nautical Clubs Associations, the main representative entity of the social and sports nautical in Spain, will spread to the young athletes of light sail the importance of the first round of the world, gesta starring the sailors Fernando de Magallanes and Juan Sebastián de Elcano between 1519 and 1522.

The initiative, which has been integrated into the Commission of the Fifth Centenary of the First Round to the World, has become official today at the Navy headquarters, at a meeting attended by Vice Admiral Ignacio Horcada Rubio; CEACNA President Jose Miguel Jaubert Lorenzo; Navy Captain Carlos Maté San Román; Confederation Manager Carlos Torrado Campos; and the coordinator of the project of dissemination in the nautical clubs, Victor Montero Suarez.

Most of the commemorative races will be held from the next weekend, coinciding almost with the date of the start of the return to the world, which sailed from San Lucar de Barrameda on 20 September 1519, although in some cases the clubs associated with CEACNA will be held successively on the next dates... the response of the members of the Confederation has been "enthusiastic," in the words of Jaubert, and it is estimated that more than 3000 light sailing regatists will take part in the competitions organized by the clubs spread throughout Spain... these races, according to the agreement of the three years of the year, will be in the celebration of the Ministry of Defense, in the year 2022.
