The crew of 'Gunter' of the Real Club Nautico of Barcelona sailed the twelve scheduled tests facing all the different winds, but especially the strong ones, concluding in the 14th place... the winner of this edition has been the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, which shone on the last day of regatta in which, as expected, the final classification was decided.

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and the San Diego Yacht Club, began the tenth and last race separated by six points, which was all but a safe margin for this competitive fleet of 20 ships. The Australian team had an advantage in the overall classification, but Captain Guido Belgiorno-Nettis and his crew played the title with a start below pair, while San Diego faced the fleet's head and ended up taking the second square.

Anthony O'Leary and the crew of the Royal Cork Yacht Club once again demonstrated that they love to sail with a lot of wind and certainly took advantage of it. In the last three tests they achieved a 5-2-1 and were made with the third square; this was their deserved first podium after competing in all previous editions of the Trophy.

On this occasion, 'Gunter' has had Silvia Más, a gold medal last August at the World Cup of Sailing held in Enoshima, in category 470. The RCNB crew were completed by Lorenzo Vázquez, Oriol Cornudella, Carles Moreu, Silvia Moreu, Santiago Más, David Más, Theresa Salerno, Derek Moynan and Allie Gray. Of the 180 crew members who have participated in the race, more than a quarter have been women: a significant increase over previous editions.

This strict one- design, combined with the fact that the 20 ships are owned by the New York Yacht Club, ensures a leveled race field. After a few days of training, the race gave its first departure yesterday Tuesday and will end on Saturday, September 14.
