Vigo and his era will be a national reference in September as far as sea sports is concerned with the dispute of the Concello de Vigo Trophy in the disciplines of pyragüism and sailing, as reported this morning by the mayor of the city, Abel Caballero. The head of the local government has held a meeting with a representation of the organizing clubs led by the Club Marítimo de Vigo, coordinator of the Abanca Week.

Caballero, accompanied by the Council of Sports, Manel Fernández, applauded the initiative of Manuel Pedro Seoane, the visible head of a vast organization that brings together, in addition to the Maritime of Vigo, the Maritime Club of Canido, the Maritime Liceo of Bouzas and Club Piragüismo Olívico (represented in the meeting by their respective presidents, Zulema Prado, Mauro Olmedo, Miguel Pereira and Javier Herrera), with the support of the Galician Federation of Piragüismo and the Royal Galician Federation of Vela. All this within the Abanca Week, represented at this institutional event by Martín Blanco.

The regator, who received from Seoane the official hunter of the competitions, celebrated the strength of the sea sports in Vigo, which on five days in September will be held in Teis (ETEA), Canido and Bouzas, with the ria as the natural stage of the series of events. In total, about 1,800 participants for the water sports event par excellence in Spain.

Knight also encouraged several young people from the Olívico Piragüismo Club who attended the event to represent the hundreds of competitors who will attend the championships.

Thus, on September 7 at the ETEA will take place the Kayak Sea Vigo Conch Trophy, also Galicia Championship and the sixth and final Galician League test. Both the Olívico Piragüism and the Kayak Vigo Club have been at the Galician podium stand all year. It is estimated that half a thousand palists of all ages will participate (Benjamin, Alevin, Children, Cadet, Youth, Senior and Veteran).

In 2013, when the Week was called Novagalicia Banco, the rowing made its appearance on the dart of the old naval base with batels and Olympic rowing. And since that date, he has lived with batel competitions, including two Spanish Championships (2015 and 2019), and several swimming tests in open waters, always with municipal sponsorship.

On September 14 and 15 in Canido, with the Ria de Vigo as a regatta field, the Vigo Trophy of light candle for classes 420, Vaien and the Laser will be held. Vigo commands worldwide in both 420 and Vaurien. This series of tests has been considered the National Interest Event by the Real Federación Española de Vela and is estimated to be over 200 regatists from Galicia, Portugal, Catalonia, País Vasco and Cantabria.

The weekend of September 21 and 22 will conclude the series of trophies sponsored by the Concello. On Saturday 21 at the ETEA, the Kayak Pista Vigo Conch Trophy, also Galicia Championship, for Alevin, Benjamin and PreBenjamin categories. There will be about 800 participants, as the organization has explained.

And on Sunday 22, the 15th Vila de Bouzas- Concello de Vigo de Cruises ORC, monotypes J80, category Sub-23 and Solitaries and A Two will be held in the field, with the exit in front of Bouzas. The heavy candle will close a magnificent month with about 200 cruises in action, to give way to the competitions programs in this week Abanca in the four Galician provinces, as well as in northern Portugal, in its 2019 edition.
