European Sailing Brotherhood: an association for fraternity.

The European Sailing Fellowship (CEV) was established in Sanxenxo on 15 February 2001; it is an association of people who have developed their professional or playful activity in the field of the sea in general and of the sailing in particular in more than 25 countries of the world. Its members include sports, professionals and researchers of the sea and its culture. It is established as a non-profit association, regulated by Organic Law 1 / 2002 regulating the law of association of the Kingdom of Spain and registered in the National Register of Associations.

Its origins coincided with a meeting in Sanxenxo of the Real Federación Española de la Vela, at the level of autonomous presidents and of Spanish own. In honor of the villa pontevedresa, one of the first investibles was for Telmo Martín González, Mayor of Sanxenxo.

At present, the Brotherhood has a total of 27 countries: Andorra, Angola, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, France, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Spain, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Uruguay and Venezuela. Its main area of action is the development of sailing and maritime culture, covering the following areas of work:

  • Social veil. Promote and bring the candle closer to the population.
  • Sporty candle. Support the sport and competitive practice of sailing.
  • Maritime culture. Promote culture linked to the sea and sailing.
  • Economy and environment. To promote the reflection and improvement of the economy linked to the sailing and the environmental environment where it is practised.
The tools available to the Brotherhood are as follows:

* Reflection and study: International Sailing Forums, Studies and publications CEV, Committees and chapters.

* Promotion: News portal and sailing knowledge, Social networks, CEV participation in events.

The Board currently has the following composition:

Since its foundation the European Brotherhood has attended numerous international events.


The Chapters in the VEC:
They are bodies that bring together friends and friends who want to develop CEV actions in a limited territory. Each chapter has a Delegate and a dynamic coordinator. The CEV currently has chapters in the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Galicia, Iberoamerica, Lisbon, Madrid, Porto, Italio- Maltese and Non-attached.

Image of the year 2012 at the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, where it was awarded and confirmed as a co-frade, the great "Chuny," the most outstanding ocean navigator of the Spanish candle, in union with Javier de la Gandara and the missing José Luis de Ugarte.
