Lete Lasa maximum responsible for the Galician sport and Zulema Prado president of the Maritime of Vigo

The Xunta de Galicia, through the Xeral Secretariat of Sports, has confirmed its support for the Week Abanca 2019. The agreement was reflected in the signing of the agreement that took place at the Casa do Sporte in Vigo, through the xeral secretary José Ramón Lete Lasa and the president of the Club Marítimo de Vigo Zulema Prado Quiroga.

The Abanca Week, then the name of the Atlantic Week, was the idea of the unforgettable Galician president Manuel Fraga Iribarne... the Galicia government chaired by socialist Emilio Pérez Touriño granted him the rank of "Strategic Event No. 1 of the Sport of Galicia," on the proposal of the then xeral director of Sports, the nationalist Santigo Domínguez Olveira... the previous year José Ramón Lete Lasa himself had given him the most official support to the "Week" to date, coinciding with the departure of the Volvo Ocean Race from the city of Vigo.

It is therefore a great event, which has historically been supported by all major political forces; it was named in Catalonia in 2013 as "best multi-sport nautical event."
