Javier Herrera, Ivan Alonso and Zulema Prado in the Maritime of Vigo

The world tricampeon of background pyragüism and pentacampeon on a continental level, met on Monday morning to accept the offer of the clubs immersed in the Abanca Week that presides the Lucense Francisco García de Bobadilla, represented by the president of the Maritime Club of Vigo Zulema Prado and the president of the Club of Olivico Pyragüismo Javier Herrera.

The position that is not honorary leads to becoming part of the Organizing Committee of the Abanca Week, and its first work will be to coordinate technically the two major events of piragüism that will bring together about 1300 palists, from prebenjines to seniors of both sexes. The tudense maintains a very close relationship with the Olívico, and has been the basis for establishing the four "comandariums" of the Abanca Week: one for each participating sport: pyragüism, sailing, rowing and nautical skiing... being all already decided and accepted by many other elite athletes.

The biggest novelty of the Abanca Week in 2019 will be the empowerment of the Pyragüism and the eruption of the "nautical ski..." this will involve the presence of Ourense for the first time and possibly Lugo, which should be approved in 2020, but given the water problems in the reservoirs of the Community of Madrid, it is very possible that this same year the province will have its event at the Abanca Week.
