I have followed one more edition of which should be the most important cruise race of all held in the European seas... and I say "should," because unfortunately it is not so... and the one who believes that this is the right way is in my opinion far from reality.

We are already sadly used to the courtiers of Palma and other areas of our Spain, who in those days land in their beautiful bay, instead of talking about sport, which at last is the only thing that should interest us... we are dedicated to comment that if Doña Leticia gets along well with Doña Sofía, or that if the Spanish Infantas are dressed in pink or blue... or that without any respect to the numerous Olympic medals or champions of the world, the really important for them is that the "Aifos" goes in its seventh category...

You can tell me... is that you can't avoid what the press writes!... and that's true nothing we can do... but the sad thing is that from the very organs of the King's Cup, without entering the "marujeo" if you give more prominence to Don Felipe being in Palma, that if he finds or mengano are extraordinary as regatists...

The proliferation of classes is in my view very serious... not because many ships of different concepts participate and not because they are given awards to go- go... is serious because they can not have rank of the King's Cup three hundred categories, some very sad (even if the ships are spectacular)It's a half a dozen friends, ultra-cordonaries, who go to Palma on a gang holiday... to get a socially very venable award, and ridiculous for real fans.

This monumental horseradish has not been missed by politicians and even the Cospedal at times seemed the real star of a King's Cup, which has entered into a very dangerous drift, a race in which one does not know who wins, in which an artificial winner is created, a race in which the business is almost everything, and in which one offers a picture of glamour more worthy of Tele 5 than of Telecomporto.

For me, with all due respect, and appreciating it's a great business for Palma and especially for some who have names and surnames... I don't like it. It seems to me a horrific competition sportively speaking, without any interest, that has become a marketing in which almost everything is worth it... and that should make some who are destroying it by their ego or their pocket... and others who may have to realize once and for all, and rectify, for the bodiment they are supporting... the King's Cup is a Tower of Babel, and every day more.
