Up to 300 athletes, wind lovers, will meet from September 19 to 22 in the Gaditana city of Tarifa to participate in the Red Bull Tarifa, a new event that will first face windsurfers and kitesurfers in an authentic mass naval battle for showing which of the two sports is the fastest.

Windsurfing and kitesurf are two of the most spectacular aquatic sports disciplines linked by a common denominator: the wind. Every year, candles and comets from all over the world are distributed the wind of Tarifa, one of the largest international havens for both sports, whose historical rivalry has given rise to this unique confrontation that bets on the healthy pique between the two disciplines. Sports with a competitive spirit that give everything in the water but from the "good roll."

The wonderful beaches of El Balneario and Valdevaqueros will witness this epic duel. In Tarifa, there is a very particular duality: two seas, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, converge, and there are two prevailing winds, Poniente and Levante. If we add two spectacular sports to this, we have a sensational cocktail called Red Bull Tarif2.

El evento estará compuesto por dos pruebas de velocidad downwind race mixtas y combinadas en las que kitesurfers y windsurfers competirán a la vez en dos batallas masivas

The event will be composed of two mixed and combined downwind race speed tests in which kitesurfers and windsurfers will compete at the same time in two massive battles

The first battle will take into account the individual result and will seek to decide which is the fastest sport. 150 riders (maximum marked by discipline) of each specialty will take the exit and fight to be the first to cross the finish line. The sport that first manages to place 20 of its riders on arrival will be declared the fastest in Tarifa in 2019 and will maintain this title until the next edition in 2020.

The second test will be a team competition. At the end of the first day of competition there will be a barbecue in which the participants of both disciplines will look for a couple for the next challenge: to be the fastest tandem (windsurfer / kiter).
