The twenty-fourth edition of the El Gaitero de Cruises Regata was presented, organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón and the Real Federación Española de Vela, with the sponsorship of the company El Gaitero... and with the collaboration of the Real Club Marítimo del Abra - Real Sporting Club de Getxo, the Real Club Marítimo de Santander, the Grupo de Regatas de Villaviciosa, the Federation of Vela of the Principality of Asturias, and the Royal Association of Cruises.

The participation figure is in about 50 ships, which will compete with more than 350 regatists... The Regata consists of four stages, two coastal routes: Getxo - Santander with a 40-mile singladura, Santander - Gijón, considered the stage queen not only for the distance of 90 miles, also has the challenge that always involves night navigation, to end in Gijón, where two barlovent- sotavento tours will be disputed, during the weekend, in a race field located in the Bay of San Lorenzo, about 15 miles.

More than 150 nautical miles in four days of competition, in which the best ships of the north peninsular will be gathered.
