The Real Club Náutico Portosín hosted the presentation of the X Ruta Marítima Jacobea O Cabaleiro das Cunchas, an act led by its president, Jorge Arán, and attended by the Mayor of Porto do Son, Luís Oujo; the president of the Association Marítima, Javier Grande; and the conselleiro de turismo sonense, Manuel Deán.

Also on this Jacobea pilgrimage, during his stay in the municipality of Porto do Son, the concello of the town will contribute to the transfer of the pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela to attend the Mass of the Pilgrimage that will be held on this occasion, being the one in charge of making the Ofrenda to the Apostle, Luís Oujo Pouso, Mayor of the sonense town.

The meeting with the tradition of Jacobea customs and the practice of the sailing sport will start from the facilities of the Bouzas Maritime Liceum on Saturday, August 3, with nine stages ahead in which the fleet will travel different environments of the spectacular coastal landscape of the neighbouring country of Portugal, arriving in Viana do Castelo, where the Lusian authorities have prepared an excellent program of events that it contemplates from attending the Jazz Festival, in the Campo da Herba, to visiting the spectacular ship hospital Gil Eannes or the Portuguese Museum do Traxe.

De Viana will sail to Baiona, a town that has also prepared a comprehensive programme of activities, thanks to the collaboration of its Mayor, Carlos Gómez, being the new port of destination Cabo de Cruz, in Boiro. On Wednesday, August 7, they will set a course for Portosín, where after three days of stay they will return the way back to Pobra do Caramiñal, and then return to Bouzas on August 10.

The route, which symbolizes the journey of "La Translatio" from the body of the Apostle Santiago, recalls the legend of the Cabaleiro das Cunchas, a medieval noble killed by a spear on the banks of Bouzas, succumbing to the life within its waters, and returned to it with the passage of the body of the Apostle, leaving the sea on the loins of his horse covered with shells, attributing the miracle to the same Santiago... from 2010, the Association of Friends of the Maritime Route, promotes the initiative, joining Portugal with Galicia, to bring them to the celebration of the Cathedral, to the same one that is given to the post-Cathedral, and to the Holy Communion.

The former Board Room of the Vicedecan of the Galician nautical, the Bouzas Maritime Liceo was the framework for the presentation of the tenth edition of the Jacobea Maritime Route "O Cabaleiro das Cunchas," an act led by the
Vice President of the Maritime Boucense and Comodoro de la Ruta, Manuel Veiga.

The Maritime Route O Cabaleiro das Cunchas has been reinforced this year, by the active presence of a good number of ships and sailors who have over the years consolidated, with their presence and participation, a known journey in the Atlantic.

It will leave from the facilities of the Bouzas Maritime Liceum on Saturday, August 3, with nine stages ahead in which the fleet, which reaches 25 units, will travel different environments of the spectacular coastal landscape of the neighbouring country of Portugal, arriving in Viana do Castelo, where the Lusian authorities have prepared an excellent program of events that it envisages from attending the Jazz Festival, in the Campo da Herba, to visiting the spectacular ship hospital Gil Eannes or the Portuguese Museum do Traxe.

After two days they will return the way back to Baiona, playing ports of the Rías Baixas in successive days like Cabo de Cruz - Boiro, in the Ria of Arousa; Portosin, in the one of Muros and Noia, in its further north transit, Pobra do Caramiñal, again in the one of Arousa, and return to Bouzas on August 10.
