The Asturian couple, Jaime Álvarez-Hevia and Ignacio Braña, are the leading winners of the XX Memorial Carlos del Castillo. The second square was obtained by Galician Roberto Bermudez and Esteban Martínez, closing the honorary posts of another Galician couple, the Coruñeses, Jaime Miranda and Cesar Herrero.

From the beginning of the first manga two crews were the ones that took their heads by extending in each section the distance between them and the rest of the fleet. Jaime Alvarez-Hevia and Ignacio Braña won the first race of the Memorial becoming one of the favorite crews to take the win. The second square was for, Roberto Bermudez and Esteban Martínez who entered very close to the first.

The French of Arcachon, Jean Jacques Frebault and Kevin Roze were the third to cross the line of arrival. The second manga of the day was very similar to the first, this time the first square was for Bermudez and Martínez followed by Alvarez-Hevia and Braña. The third position would be on this occasion for, Jaime Miranda and Cesar Herrero, who would end up in the third place in the general classification.

On Sunday, however, the second day began, after two general calls, at last the third was the defeated one, that is, under the threat of disqualification to the one who left before the start. In the last race another Asturian couple, Francisco Silvela and Carlota Herrero were held at the front of the manga from the beginning, reaching first to the finish line, completing a magnificent performance. The French of Arcachon would occupy the second position, ending in the third square Alfonso Oña of Madrid and Teresa Béjar of Motril. For their part, Bermudez and Martínez would end up in the second position on the table, closing the Sunday day with a 19, and a fifth place.
