"Cachete" by Fran Edreira of the Nautical Club of Sada, was proclaimed on the afternoon of the absolute Sunday winner of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Altas, series that organized the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña. In the different classes the victories were for the same "Cachete" among those of half length, "La María" by Miguel Angel Fernández of the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña in the group of the "big" and the asturian "Silfo" of the Club de Vela Bahia de Gijón with José Angel García of cane as regards the "smaller." The second act of Mar de Maeloc will be next Friday in the middle of the afternoon with the Finisterre Trophy that from La Coruña will reach the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona, the longest race of those celebrated in Galician waters: just over 120 miles.

There was a weather part that supported it: winds of a north component of 10 to 20 knots, with a wave of one to two meters, and the truth is that on this occasion the "time professionals" were right. In Cedeira the wind was 10 knots, and between Prior and Prioriño it went up to 18, to be set in the 15, being from the north.

This led to two things: first of all that the journey between Cedeira and La Coruña was very fast... and the other that the great ones damaged you were the largest ships... and one that corroborates it reliably: the first two in real, were "Solventis" of the Mount Real Club of Yates (which arrived before three in the afternoon to La Coruña with a splendid average) and "Gómez Mostly," were in the tail of group 1, favoring the circumstance "La María" that was made with victory in the category of the great ships.

For its part, "Cachete" had an excellent race, only being overtaken in real by "Solventis" and "Gómez Mostly"; and in compensation for "Alma do Mar" that was scored his first victory in the Sea of Maeloc Rias Altas, as well as made with silver in group 2, behind the "Cachete" and ahead of the "Zospiro" that in the closing stage was third of the general. By the way, his patron Guillermo Blanco Jr. He was just going to finish the race, heading for Getxo... where he will participate with his J80 in the World Championship that begins tomorrow Monday in peach water.

Among those of minor length, the "Silfo" of the Bay of Gijón obtained the first square, being the second for the "Mascato" of Enrique Vilariño of the Real Nautico Club of La Coruña and the third for the "Avrego" patrolled by Manuel Freire of the Nautico Club of Sada.

In short, excellent edition of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Altas, which will have its continuity with the Finisterre and Regata Rías Baixas, which organizes the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, and in which it is very likely that the maximum forecast of 80 ships that have stipulated the organizers will be cut. The great project of joining the three most ancient races of Galicia has started in an excellent way with the Rías Altas Regata, in which the level has been very high, and the competition for the first extreme squares.

The third stage of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Baixas was particularly hard for the fleet, with winds of more than 30 knots reached in several phases of the almost 30 miles that separate the ports of Sada and Cedeira, a wind that caused a wave of just over three meters in height.

It was expected that with these conditions of hardness the ships of greater length would take the cat to the water, case of the "Solventis" (Grand Soleil 46) and the "Asturias" (Oceanis 50), but nothing further than reality, because while the ship of Malalo Bermudez de Castro del Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona had won with a chrono of 04.16.19 (second was the "Gómez Mostly" to 19.50 and third the "Lambaix" to 26.42), it did not achieve enough revenue, to overcome the compensation of the time of the Ralas, while the Commission of the one of the ship of the so-called "Requatas," the "of the" of the "of the" of the "of the Sea," that of the "the" the "of the" of the "of the" of the "the" of the "the" of the "the" of the "of the"

On the contrary, the "Cachete" that was regating in inferiority in these conditions (is a Delher 36) gave the great surprise by beating in the third stage, ahead of a splendid "La Maria" with Jorge Etcheverría a la rea, as well as the "Solventis" that Alberto and Javier Moro make.

After this group, the fourth square was for the "Mascato" of Enrique Vilariño of the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, being the fifth "Gómez Mostly" that continues to sail frankly well and sixth the precious "Lambaix" that patronizes Antonio Ríos of the Club Náutico de Sada. For his part, "Eleko Mambo" was not in his line being the seventh in the stage, which caused him to leave the top five in the absolute general, since he is taking over the Sun Fast 3600 "Lambaix."

The stage of Saturday began with only a five-minute delay, at those times the wind always of the north component was in the 8 knots... but little by little it began to rise and already through the mouth of the river of Ferrol it reached the 18... speed that was gradually increasing to the more than 30 knots in the equator of the stage, to go down a little in Cedeira, where it ended up in the 25 knots; that was with a lot of sea.

In the absence of the fourth and final stage, the Sea of Maeloc Rías Altas has as its great favorite the "Cachete" of Fran Edreira, as regards the absolute general classification. Only a "puncture" or a "failure" can give the stray with its position of privilege. Silver is the work of two "La María" of the Nautico de La Coruña and the "Solventis" of Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona... between both only 1 point.
As far as the classes are concerned, "Cachete" has in his pocket the first place in the middle class, the 2; while the boat of the Club de Vela Bahia de Gijón "Silfo" that patron José Angel García Fernández must win the class 3, that of those of the minor length. Finally in the 1, everything much more complicated, for "La María" commands with 6 points and "Solventis" one more... so that whoever wins of the two in the Cedeira- La Coruña, will be the winner of the category.

"Cachete" by Fran Edreira of the Nautical Club of Sada, is the leader of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Altas, at the end of the second stage held between the ports of Malpica and Sada in the province of La Coruña with about 24 miles in length. The "Solventis" of the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, which won the first stage, was overcome on this occasion and will take up the second place of the general, two points from the new leader. The winner of the stage was the "Eleko Mambo" of the Club Marítimo de La Penela, with the vigués Carlos Sampedro a la rea. For the third stage Saturday between Sada and Cedeira, with just over 28 miles and beginning at 12: 00 in the morning, of which is the longest test.

The departure in Malpica had to be delayed in a little over an hour and a half over the scheduled schedule. The panorama was simply desolate, as the environment of the legendary archipelago of the Sisargas was an oil raft... but after one in the afternoon, the wind even when soft appeared and the second act was achieved with about six knots of the east.

With the fleet sailing, the wind came down again, until the early morning a almost north wind came in which was 10 knots and ended up 15 knots, so the fleet already sailed with loose, first reaching Sada the "Solventis" of Malalo Bermudez de Castro with a chrono of 03-02-20. After the pontevedrés the "Gómez Mostly" was 18.16, the third being the "Lambaix" of Antonio Ríos del Náutico de Sada at 20.44.

The fourth was "Eleko Mambo" with Carlos Sampedro to the cane, who would be the absolute winner, just ahead of Delher 36 "Cachete" who was already the new leader, after a great race and with the benefit of having entered the wind "by stern," which certainly favored him for his minor handicap.

It is worth noting the excellent Sampedro race that however has practically no choice to get into the podium for not having scored in the stage of Malpica, like "Mourisca" by Gonzalo Vázquez that today was especially good, as well as the "Alma do Mar" by Nito Enriquez.

By classes "Solventis" and "La María" are equal in class 1 (that of the largest in length) with five points, the third being the "Gómez Mostly" with three more points. In the 2 "Cachete" duties are completed as it was the only one who entered time in the first stage, so he is a leading leader; while in the 3 "Silfo" of José Angel García Fernández of the Club de Vela Bahia de Gijón is the first ranked, after his victory in his category in the second stage.

In the absolute general, for whose winner is established a very special trophy, as it is a beautiful Tower of Hercules of silver made in due time by the workshops of the late Jewelry Malde, which for many years were responsible for producing the legendary Trophy Teresa Herrera of football. This is the classification with all the classes grouped... and eye because there is nothing decided when you reach the equator of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Alta:

1 CACHATE (Dehler 36) by Fran Edreira of the Nautical Club of Sada, 4 points
2nd SOLVENTIS (Grand Soleil 46) from Malalo Bermudez de Castro del Monte Real C.Y. de Baiona, 6
3rd LA MARIA (J109) by Miguel Angel Fernández del Real Club Náutico de La Coruña, 6
4th ELEKO MAMBO (Hanse 400) by Carlos Sampedro of the Club Marítimo La Penela, 7
5th GOMEZ MOSTLY (Prime 38) by Andrés Soto of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, 10

11 / 07 / 2019: "Solventis" and "Cachete" lead the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Altas in Malpica

La "salida urbana" desde La Coruña espectacular (Foto Pedro Seoane)

The Grand Soleil 46 "Solventis" armed by Alberto and Pablo Moro of Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona, with the Herculine pattern Malalo Bermudez de Castro a la rea is the provisional leader of the Regata Mar de Maeloc Rías Altas, after holding on Thursday the first stage between the ports of La Coruña and that of Malpica, in the middle of the Galician Death Coast, in front of the legendary Sisargas islands.

A spectacular exit as usual in the opening of the Rías Altas: an "urban" exit in front of the Coruñese Cantons, opposite the Centennial and the transatlantic pier, which at that time housed a huge paquebote with more than three hundred meters in length.

The wind at that time was about 10 knots north-east and the stern to the Castle of San Antón, still very close to the starting line, was dominated by "Solventis" that had "La María," "Gómez Mostly," "Zospiro," "Mambo," the vigués "Bosch Service Solutions" and the "Lambaix" very close.

The strongest was "Alma do Mar," which chose the option to stick to the left of the exit and sailed at high speed. In the big platoon there were among others "Mourisca," the "Albarellos," the Asturian "Silfo," as well as the veteran "Carozo" of the mythical Maximino Casares.

After leaving the Barrié de la Maza dam, the wind began to loose and for the moment it was coming down from the six knots, which made it very difficult to navigate the fleet... a situation that became very complex through the Exterior Port of La Coruña the wind fell down... when it had only been covered four or five miles from the 22 of which was this first stage with the end in Malpica.

The retreats were constant, the first to do so was the "Bosch Service Solutions" and the last already at the edge of nine o'clock at night was the "Alma do Mar" already very close to the arrival line, installed in front of the beach of Malpica.

I used to get the "Solventis" in time when it was about 7: 30 in the afternoon, with a chrono of 05-15-44. After the arrival of the ship of Malalo Bermudez, which was already in the middle of a total glow more moved by the current and that the wind itself generated by the ships of great length, the frenzied was even greater...

At that time they were about three miles from Malpica, three ships: "La María" the J109 of Miguel Angel Fernández with the comandoro of the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña Jorge Etcheverría a la rea, the "Gómez Mostly" the Prima 38 of Andrés Soto and the "Cachete" of Fran Edreira a Delher 36 very competitive of the Náutico Club of Sada.

When it was even to be feared that the Grand Soleil 46 of Mount Real, was the only one to get in time, it was very slow to cross the line of arrival the "La María" to 51.30. The third to achieve its goal was the "Gómez Mostly" already an hour from the winner and closed the tickets the "Cachete" already around nine o'clock in the night.

With these data the ships that have not managed to enter in time, which are most already have almost impossible access to the podium places in this Regata Mar de Maeloc Rias Altas, for none of the points achieved can be discarded. So are things after the Coruña-Malpica stage.

With the first act of the Rías Altas Regata, it starts at La Coruña Mar de Maeloc at one in the afternoon. It will be with a tour of about 25 miles to the port of Malpica, in which 25 ships from all Galicia and Asturias will participate, among which will be the winner of the 2018 edition, the "Bosch Service Solutions" patroned by Ramón Ojea of the Vigués Club Marítimo de Canido.

The series that is organized by the nautical reference of the nautical of Galicia, the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, will be held until Sunday with a total of four stages, with the end or beginning in the capital itself, as well as Malpica, Sada and Cedeira. In total about 110 miles by the Sea of Maeloc.

In competition many of the illustrious of the northern candle, amen of the ship of Ramón Ojea. On the part of the southern fleet you will be on the exit line "Solventis" of the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona armed by Javier and Pablo Moro, which has an exceptional cane as is the Herculino Malalo Bermudez de Castro. Another boat from the Villa de la Pinta will be the "Albarellos" that has Fernando Rey as its cane.

The northern fleet is widely represented in this Sea of Maeloc Rías Altas, case of the Hansa 400 "Eko- Mambo" that patrons the Carlos Sampedro vineyard and that competes for the Club Marítimo de La Penela, which is one of the clear favorites to the final victory. Also with many options the "Gómez Mostly" by Andrés Soto del Náutico de La Coruña, as well as the "Alma do Mar" by Nito Enriquez, the "Cachete" by José Francisco Edreira, "Zeppelin," "La María" or "Raygrass" for some examples.

The largest boat in the fleet will be the spectacular Baltic 56 (about 19 meters in length) of "Bionic Elk" by José Angel Quinteiro of the Club de Mar San Amaro de La Coruña; while by the fleet of Ferrol appears at the most exponent the "Almansa" of José Rey of the Naval Commission... and by Asturias the "Silfo" of the Club de Vela Bahia de Gijón, which has as its cane José Angel García.

I begin with the new concept of the Sea of Maeloc regats, which after the Rías Altas Regata, will have its continuity in the legendary Finisterre Trophy with the end in the Monte Real Club of Yates of Baiona for the next weekend, and already in the middle of August with the most important regatta of Spain in stages, the Rías Baixas Regata by the hand of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, which will be supported by the Real Club Náutico de Sanxxo, the Club Náutico Caramiñal and the Club Náutico de Marca, which will begin in a historic event of the...
