The Monte Real Club de Yates welcomes 25 ships in Baiona, one of the rallies of the historic Royal Cruising Club, one of the most important cruise associations in the world. Some 60 sailors emphasized at the Baionese club to put a stop and end to two weeks of crossing.

They are mostly British cruises with an average age of 55 years who travel with friends or family on sailing boats about 13 meters long, mainly moved by their love of the sea. They belong to the select and exclusive group of 400 members of a club created in 1880 under the leadership of Arthur Underhill to promote sailing through rallies such as that made this summer to Galicia or the launch of different publications on navigation.

After passing through Coruña, Portosín and the Cis Islands, and visiting the cathedral of Santiago, the Rubianes pazo or the Baroña castro, among other highlights, the cruises, who chose the Mount Real Club of Yates as a colophone for their sailing trip, enjoy these days of Baiona and its surroundings.

This afternoon, the mayor of Baiona, Carlos Gómez, will participate in an event in which members of the board of directors of Mount Real and the Royal Cruising Club will make an exchange of grompolas as a symbol of friendship between the two entities.

The British association will include its comandoro and vice-comandoro, Paul Heiney and Nick Chavasse; and the Baionese club, Vice President Alejandro Retolaza, and vice-comandoro and the secretary, Genoveva Pereiro and César Fernández-Casqueiro.
