03 / 07 / 2019: Australians take the lead at the expense of Greeks in the World Cup of F18

Due to the storm that has affected the areas of the Ripolles and Alt Emporda, the race direction, in coordination with the sea officers, have successfully cancelled the third test of the day for both fleets: the Gold Fleet and Silver Fleet

The Australian catamaran of Darren Bundock and Conor Nicholas has taken the lead at the cost of the Greek of the Red Bull team of Iordan Paschalidis and Konstantinos Trigonis in the final line of the test.

The difference between the first two classified F18 World Championship Costa Brava 2019 was yesterday 12 points in favour of the Greeks. Today, Australians have managed to dry the disadvantage and put three points ahead.

They have done so with a millimeter navigation, with a high speed in the built-in and precision in the maneuvers, which have been translated into two first positions, while the Red Bull catamaran could only be fourth and ninth.

After eleven contested races, everything makes it possible to predict that tomorrow, the last day of the championship, would be decisive to rule out who will be the new world champion of F18 of 2019. If the first and second places are not yet completely clear, the third appears to have an insured name, that of the Argentine crew of Cruz González and Mariano Heuser.

The best Spanish catamaran classified - there are 15 in competition - remains that of Fabian Manuel Migoya and Alexis Parcerisa, of the Castelldefels Nautical Club, which are kept in place 27.

The large number of participating vessels - 130 catamarans with 260 tripulantes- has led the organization to have balized two race fields a mile from the beach, between Punta Falconera and the Scale, occupying the entire bay of Roses. The wind has blown between 8 and 14 knots and allowed the three tests to be disputed.

Those who have best read the thermal wind that has blown in the Bay of Roses have been the Greek catamaran of the Red Bull team, who have obtained three first positions that place him in front of the provisional classification of the championship. After them, the catamaran of the Argentines Rus González and Mariano Heuser, who has obtained a second, a fifth and a third place, who places them seconds.
