In the new ship, which is expected to be delivered in the coming weeks, substantial performance improvements have been made, including higher speed, lower fuel consumption and better stability.

The Australian shipyard Incat has set the Tagoro Volcano catamaran, the most advanced fast ferry in its class worldwide. It is the great novelty of the year not only in the Spanish merchant Navy, but in the vanguard of Europe as regards high-speed vessels.

The Tagoro Volcano catamaran is 111 meters long and has capacity for 1,184 passengers, of which 155 in business class and 16 crew, as well as a two-deck garage for 215 cars and 595 linear meters for rolling. It will maintain a speed of 36 knots powered by four MAN 28 / 33D STC 20V engines, with a power of 9,100 kw each, which operate equal number of water jets of the Finnish manufacturer Wärtsila.

The new ship of the TransMediterranean Arms Group pays tribute to the most recent underwater volcano of Canarias, whose eruption occurred in the south of El Hierro between October 2011 and February 2012.
