This is the first time that the Costa Brava has hosted the best Formula 18 catamarans in the world, after last summer it was the venue of the F18 European Championship, the European Championship of the modality while the World Cup was held in the United States

The F18 2019 World Championship, the Formula 18 Catamaran World Championship, which will take place for the first time on the Costa Brava, will be a plastic-free and solidarity-free event thanks to collaboration with the Cruyff Foundation... dates from June 29 to July 4.

There are already 120 crews from 26 different countries, from as far away as Australia, the United States, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, China or Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Spain, Great Britain, Greece, the Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland and Switzerland.

The most numerous fleets will be Spanish and Australian. The participants will include the tandem formed by Iordan Paschalidis - Konstantinos Trigonis, current world and European champions 2018; the Belgian family Henri Demesmaeker- Morgan Wiritz and Patrick Demesmaeker - Gilles Tas or a catamaran world legend like Darren Bundock, world multicampoon and Olympic medalist.
