Rolex's relationship with sailing includes people and organizations that set the highest standards, such as the Italian Yacht Club, the Saint- Tropez Société Nautique and the Monaco Yacht Club

The Maxi 72 Caol Ila R of Alex Schaerer was declared the absolute winner of the Rolex Giraglia 2019, a large edition that brought together three hundred ships, and in which the Rambler of George David was the fastest in real time on the 241-mile tour that joined Saint- Tropez with Monaco via the mythical Giraglia.

A total of 297 ships and about three thousand crew members participated in the intense competition program of the Rolex Giraglia 2019, in which they highlighted the three days of coastal testing in the Bay of Saint- Tropez and the ocean race that gives name to the event.

The ocean component of the Rolex Giraglia is its most distinctive sign: a 241 nautical mile tour from Saint- Tropez to surround the Giraglia rock off the north coast of Corsica and on its way to arrival, which for the second time (after 2014) was established in Montencarlo, where the crews were welcomed by the splendid headquarters of the Yacht Club de Monaco.

For the 88 feet (26.8 meters) American, a boat designed for the competition, this was the opportunity to add the Rolex Giraglia to an impressive real-time wins that includes the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Rolex Middle Sea Race.

Owen- Jones and his 100-foot Wallycento (30.5 meters) Magic Carpet Cubed - a ship designed to combine competition and cruise, with a sophisticated interior and greater displacement - played the game of experience in an event where you already know what it is to win in real time (2016) and in compensation (2015).

The long race began in Saint- Tropez under an intense blue sky and good breeze, flaming one of the most spectacular exits in years, with 243 ships leaving the historic French port in a color show offered by the spinnaker to the wind

Third in real time, 59 minutes from Rambler, Caol Ila R showed that it is always a rival to take into account... after having to be satisfied with the third absolute position in the last two editions of the Rolex Giraglia, this time it achieved its goal by establishing the best time in compensation of the fleet, favored by the complicated conditions that the ships that preceded it found in the final approach.
