The nautical tourism in Vigo has a great tradition and many fans. However, the potential of natural conditions and the potential of the sector is not sufficiently exploited. This makes it difficult to compete in international markets or to attract new entrants from both local and foreign nautical activities. In this way, the idea of creating an association, of a legal nature of its own, that brings the sector together in the environment of the river of Vigo and Baiona.

As a first step in the creation of such an association, a feasibility study was conducted. This study deepened the analysis of the sector in the Ria de Vigo and identified the critical aspects for the improvement of competitiveness, as well as specifying a first proposal for a work plan of the entity. As a result of this study, it is finally proposed to create a public-private association, under the name of the Ria de Vigo Association of Nautical Entities - ARIVEN.

The entity is born under the main objective of contributing to the improvement of the competitiveness of the companies and entities of the sector, through the positioning of the Nautical brand Ria de Vigo, as an international reference in the nautical sector. Under this common objective, individual and collective interests combine, helping to strengthen and improve the quality of services provided by the sector, within a national and international framework. To achieve this overall objective, the following specific objectives are proposed:

• To be a place of meeting and debate for all the actors in the nautical sector in the territorial area of action of the Association.

• Promote increased demand through the design and implementation of joint commercial and marketing actions.

• To achieve a single core of representation with the Administration and other actors.

• To strengthen and improve the specialized technical skills and skills of professionals in the sector.

• To enhance cooperation with other sectors.

As a first approach to the work plan and the services provided by the Association to its members, the following is a summary of the most important activities that the entity will offer with its implementation and that will contribute to the implementation of its objectives:

- Advisory services: preparation of reports and studies on specific topics of common interest to the sector.

- Training activities: organization and implementation of courses, days or seminars for the professionalization of the sector.

- Professional employment exchange: a professional employment exchange will be created and maintained to cover all the profiles necessary for the development of the sector's activities.

- Promotion actions: various promotion actions will be designed, such as commercial missions, support for fairs, organization of promotional events...

- Working groups: specialized in different topics of interest to partners.

- Newsletter: dissemination of information of interest to members on information of interest to the sector and on the activities of the Association itself.

Its contribution to the sector:

- Puerto Innovador: The Association will promote a joint working ecosystem among its members, mainly through the exchange of knowledge, collaboration for the design of new business activities, etc. This will help to improve their competitiveness and outward projection.

- Inclusive Port: through the implementation of the activities of the Association, the training and training of people to respond to employment demands will be promoted.
