The iconic French town of Biarritz is being the stage of the ISA World Longboard Surfing Championship where the national combination competes for the second consecutive year. The new edition of the event, organized by the International Surfing Association, was held in the well-known waves of Côte des Basque.
Spanish athletes close the world's participation with a good taste of mouth. The high level that is being experienced at the ISA World Longboard Surfing Championship puts into value the results of the Spaniards on an appointment attended by the best athletes of the discipline.
Surfers Jon Irigoyen and Alberto de Mario started the world with good sensations and advanced in the first rounds. The high level of all the competitors led the Spanish to fight the refishing rounds.
On this second occasion, they both did a good job and were classified until round 3 in the case of Irigoyen, ending in seventeenth position, and round 4 in the case of De Mario. In the female category, the Galician Maria Lapuente with a twenty-second position completed the participation of the Spaniards in the world of France.
After almost a week of competition, and in the absence of the final eliminations, the Andalusian Alberto De Mario is the best ranked in the national combination with the fifth position in the male category.
