The closing day of the BDO Barcelona Laser Master was cancelled for lack of wind... in this way the classification established after the day of Saturday, the second of the championship, becomes final, with what the regatist of the Barcelona RCN Leandro Rosado "Apprenz" wins in the Standard and the British Ian Jones of the Dovestone Sailing Club "Master," in the Radio gear.

The Master Championships also set age categories. In Standard the winner in the Master category has been the German Roger Schulz, ninth in the General, while another German, Thomas Mueller, second in the General is the winner in Grand Master.

In Radial, with a wider fleet, the winner in "Grand Master" is Pep Campi of the CV Calella, second in the General, while French Jean Philippe Galle of the CN St Raphael, the 14th of the General, is the first in the venerable category of Great Grand Master, for regatists over 65 years old, who are not few for a ship as demanding as the Laser.

In the female category, Mónica Azón del CN El Masnou, followed by María del Mar de Ros and Elena Sáez de Juan, both from the Barcelona RCN.

In the BDO Barcelona Laser Master Championship 2019 have competed 104 ships from 20 countries, 33 Standard and 69 Radio. The general classification was as follows:

The second day of the BDO Barcelona Laser Master Championship 2019, with a turn in the classification of Laser Standard where Leandro Rosado of the Barcelona Nautico, followed by the German Thomas Muller and Antoni Roig Alegre.

It was not the day of Josele Doreeste, who moved from the second to the fourth of the General with a third as the best partial of the day. Similar result reaches the first leader of the championship, English Alan Davies who falls to fifth place with an off-line and a tenth as the best partial.

The British Ian Jones of the Dovestone Sailing Club, has long dominated the day with a second and two first positions, taking over Pep Campi and Irish Sean Craig, the first leader of the General, to third place... Mónica Azón, on an excellent day, in which he won the first test, is already fourth in the General and leads the long female classification.

The strong wind of the South-West has marked the beginning of the BDO Barcelona Laser Master Championship 2019 in which two tests have been held, the first with 17 - 18 knots that would increase to over 22 in the second, all accompanied by a good tidal... these harsh conditions have caused numerous overlaps and forced to withdraw to dozens of regatists, let us not forget that it is a race of veterans and the Laser is a physically and technically demanding boat, especially with "chestnut."

In Laser Standard duel between English Alan Davis of the Oxford Sailing Club, with a third and a first, pursued by the gold medal Josele Doreste, with a fifth and a second, with the teuton Thomas Muller of third, tied to points with the canary pattern. José Maria van del Ploeg, also Olympic Gold Medal is fourth with a second and a ninth. At the last hour Carlos Martínez, European champion of the specialty and winner of the last edition, has not been able to participate in the race with what the result remains more open. Of the 35 participants in this class, only 23 completed the two tests.

Of the 69 participants in the radio version, with the reduced candle, only 33 completed both tests. First leader, the Irish Sean Craig of the Royal St. George Yacht Club, who scored the victory in the first trial and second place in the other. In the absence of a week for the start of the BDO Barcelona Laser Master Championship 2019 the list of registered ships is striking: 116 ships representing 20 countries of them some as far away as Australia, Argentina Mexico USA and Canada, in addition to the important Spanish fleet.

By category are 45 Master, 47 Grand Master (between 55 and 64 years old) with three girls, out of the 9 registered, in this group where he competes the tireless Silvia Ravetllat animator of the Barcelona fleet of J80 and 10 venerable Great Master who is 65 years old or older and until the day before the age of 75. By gear, only the Standard and Radio are allowed, a slight domain of the latter with 67 ships, same figure as in the last edition, compared to the 49 Standard, fleet that grows in 16 units.

Great regatists on the payroll of participants, including the absolute winners of the last edition Mónica Azón and Carlos Martínez or the Olympic gold medalists José Luis Doreeste, José María Van der Ploeg and Miguel Noguer, all in the Grand Master category and the European Master Antoni Roig of the Club de Vela Calella.

Mónica Azón is a European Master of Laser and twice the world champion in the Yngling Women's Chillé in which he competed at the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Carlos Martínez, from Real Club Náutico Santiago de la Ribera, has won the titles of Subchampion of the World and Champion of Europe Laser Master.
