With the award ceremony and a toast to the new year this Friday, the XIII New Year's Regatta, VIII Memorial Kim Lytghoe, has been ending, which has been fighting over the last three days in the waters of Cadiz Bay under the organization of the Andalusian Vela Federation. The Andalusian Manuel Olero (RCN of El Puerto de Santa María) and Miguel Moncada (CN Sevilla) are proclaimed champions of the prestigious trophy in the classes Laser 4.7 and Laser Radial, respectively, and in the case of the second with double as it also wins the first autonomous cup of the 2017 season. He won the last two tests to clear any doubt about his domain in Laser class 4.7, in which he has sent from the first day and trial. The final podium is accompanied by his club partner Curro Pavón and the canary María Mateo, a female champion, supported in this podium by the regatist of CN Fuengirola, Elena Pérez, absolute tenth. The third male is Ivan López, from the RCN of El Puerto de Santa María, while his sister Eva is also third among females confirming the excellent level of the fleet of the real harbour nautical club.

Impressive final in the Radial Laser class whose outcome was not decided until the last test after a total of seven in these three days. A 3rd of Moncada in the first test against a 1st of Antonio Coronilla (CN El Trocadero) with the second at the hands of the Russian Krutskikh left everything pending from the last sleeve. Not even the rents were worth to Moncada at that time and needed to win the last sleeve to confirm his victory finally did and with a third of Coronilla and another second of Russian, he returned to the first place in a definitive way to win the absolute and the autonomous cup with one and three points of rent on the visitor and the village, second and third, respectively. In Laser Standard the absolute title is for the British Jack Wetherell, escorted on the podium by the Norwegian Mathias Mollat and the Eliot Merceron, who exchanged their positions on the final day to be second and third, respectively. In this class, the first Spanish and champion of the Cup of Andalusia is the athlete of the CN El Trocadero, Socrates Fernández.

In RS: X Male, Borja Carracedo, from the Náutico Sevilla, managed to stay in the third place to which he arrived after the penultimate day to hang the absolute bronze and proclaim himself an autonomous champion saying goodbye with a third and two. The absolute winner is the Belarusian Artem Javadav with the subchampionship at the hands of Lithuanian Bernotas. For its part, the Galician Tomás Vieito remains at the podium doors, while the autonomous subchampion is Fernando Lamadrid (CN Puerto Sherry), the tenth absolute second.

Pilar Lamadrid (CN Puerto Sherry) hangs the silver in RS: X Feminino and gets the first autonomous title of the new season when he proclaimed himself the champion of the cup of Andalusia ahead of his companion Blanca Carracedo (CN Sevilla), absolute bronze. Lamadrid said goodbye to the big door by winning the last test of the trophy he reached after scoring two 3rd. As expected, the absolute victory is confirmed at the hands of the French Lucie Belbeoch, untreatable in the Gaditana Bay, winning all the evidence in which she has taken part as in the last decision not to participate. The autonomous podium with Lamadrid and Carracedo is completed by the young Blanca Medina, of the CN Puerto Sherry, from the eighth absolute place.

In RS: X Juvenil, the javense Jose Luis Boronat solves in the best way and by winning the last three tests not only untied in his favor the tie to points with the Russian Egor Zhilin but he puts three points to win more forcefully. The Ukraniano Mendelenko and the first Andalusian and champion of the Cup of Andalusia is Jaime Samalea, of the CN Sevilla, classified in the tenth absolute place.

In Techno Sub 17, the Portuguese Aurelio Terry (CN Sevilla) is fired with two 3rd and a second and the absolute bronze is hung, sharing one of the most expensive podiums of the trophy with Russian Artem Akimov, winner of the last three tests, and British Finn Hawkins. Terry wins the cup of Andalusia by adding a new title to his palmarés, accompanied in the autonomous podium by his club partner, Fernando Samalea, and Guillermo Sánchez, of the RCN of El Puerto de Santa María, fourth and eighth, respectively. The female winner is the Norwegian Helle Hospedal and the first Spanish and autonomous champion Carola Martínez, of the CN Sevilla, fifth and tenth absolutes, respectively.

Foreign domain in the Techno Sub-15 class where the title travels to Russia by the hand of Yana Reznikova, winning by two and seven points on the Belarusian Yulia Matveenko.and his compatriot Misha Aleksandrov. The first Spanish and winner of the Cup of Andalusia is Manuel Zoilo Buzón (CN Sevilla), the ninth absolute.

As expected, the champion in the Raceboard class is the veteran Paco Manchón who today had as rivals the windsurfer Daniel Sánchez and his wife María Antonia Domínguez, the three with the flag of the Nautico Sevilla. Manchón wins the absolute and closes the 2016 season as the creditor of the last championship of Andalusia to be decided.

The typical rising wind of the Gaditan Bay received on Wednesday participants in the tenth edition of the New Year's Regatta, Memorial Kim Lytghoe, which is held until next Friday, December 30 with a participation that exceeds 100 regatists from a dozen countries.

The inaugural day is filled with the three tests planned for all classes, enlivened by intensities above the fifteen knots in the two areas of regatta, roaring the twenty knots in the case of the Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7, led by officer Rafael Serrano, and with the top in the 18 knots in the area of the Techno, RS: X and Raceboard tables, organized in front of the harbour beach of Valdelagrana by a team led by Carlos Muñoz Villareal.

Visitors and hosts share the first leaders in the different classes with a first game that seems to win the first, although in all cases the host fleet keeps the options intact for two more days and six tests for the final end.

The regatists of the RCN of El Puerto de Santa María, Manuel Olero and Curro Pavón are placed in the head of the class Laser 4.7 with a tie to points that is resolved on the side of the first by winning the third and last test of the day.
