The only nautical fair in Tenerife offered over the weekend about 80 activities for all ages

The fifth edition of Fenautica closed its doors this weekend in Marina del Sur, after bringing together more than 11,000 visitors who participated in the nearly 80 activities developed in this tourist enclave of Las Galetas for all ages.

The only nautical fair in Tenerife focused this year on the care of the marine environment, the ecosystem of the islands, recycling, cleaning of coasts and funds, ocean fauna and flora and raising awareness of their pollution due, in particular, to single-use plastics.

Sports shared a leading role with the environment thanks to competitions such as the seventh edition of the Guanche's Cup and the 21st Undersea Video Canaries Championship. The nautical was well represented by the many companies that collaborated with the event and that exhibited their best boats at the explanade of this marina of Las Galetas.

The programme also covered nautical baptisms, courses and exits in water, kayak, surfing and paddle surfing, among other sports disciplines, as well as other training actions on first aid or knot processing.

In the field of leisure, the visitors of Fenática 2019 had at their disposal sessions dj, batucadas, live bodypainting, concerts of local groups such as Los Vandalos or Barman Flax and a special performance tribute to the mythical British band Queen... the agenda of this exciting weekend was completed with a local handicraft market and a wide gastronomic offer.

Fenutica 2019 commemorates World Oceans Day with its launch today, Saturday, June 8, at the South Marina Sports Pier, in the surroundings of Las Galocas. The agenda of the first day of the fair was formed by more than 30 activities divided between training workshops and educational talks dedicated to promoting the well-being of marine biodiversity.

It also offers sports competitions, nautical exhibitions and live musical performances. The Sunday program will include more than 40 initiatives from 10: 00 to 19: 00. Free access throughout the event.

The inauguration of Fenautica 2019 included, among other initiatives, children's environmental awareness workshops, bodypainting, demonstrations on electrolytic corrosion, catamaran exits from the Navy and colloquios with prominent athletes such as María Morales, champion of the junior world of windsurfing sub 15.

In the course of the 7,000 square meters of dock, more than 40 stands related to the world of nautical, local crafts and canarian gastronomy were also installed.

The first day's musical agenda of Fenautics covered the Live Drums Show, several music sessions with local dj and the concerts of Barman Flax and the Tributo a Queen.

The great party of the South Marina Sea this year has the support of the City of Arona, Tourism of Tenerife, Sports of Tenerife, the South CIT and the companies Binter, Puerto Mogán, Marina Rubicón and Aequor Spa, among others.

The fifth edition of Fenutica will open its doors this weekend at the facilities of the Marina del Sur marina to offer the local and foreign public the most ambitious program in its history... the only nautical fair in Tenerife will include more than 70 activities dedicated to the marine world, robotics, the environment, sport and leisure for all ages.

The care of marine biodiversity, the danger of plastics, recycling and coastal cleaning will be particularly relevant in this edition through talks, workshops, demonstrations and video projections aimed at all generations.

The sport will be another of the great protagonists of Fenautics, with the celebration of the Undersea Photo Canaries Championship and the seventh edition of the Guanche's CUP race... there are the presence of prominent athletes such as the world apnea champion, Umberto Pelizzari, the junior world windsurfing champion, María Morales, or Pedro Ripol.

The main stage of the fair will also host different musical performances during the weekend... Saturday, from 7: 30 in the afternoon, will take place a concert tribute to Queen and Sunday will be the turn of the group Los Vandalos, at 2: 00 in the afternoon

María Morales, world junior windsurfing champion, will participate in the fifth edition of Fenautics held in the Tiñerfeño port of Arona, to tell his experience and next challenges, in a talk that will take place next Saturday, June 8, from 14: 30.

The young sportsman, 12 years old and natural of Granadilla de Abona, sums up important achievements in her career, despite her young age. It started in this mode at only 7 years, taking its first waves on the beach of El Cabezo next to its father. At the age of 11, he became the youngest rider to participate in the Windsurfing World's canarian trials. Just a year later, in November 2018, he managed to win the international PWA World Tour Windsurf competition.

Along with Mary, other nautical athletes with an important trajectory, such as Pedro Ripol, the first Spanish to cross an ocean, will also participate in the Fair, which will share with all the attendees their experience of 2001 for the Atlantic. Umberto Pelizzari, world champion of Apnea, will also be present.

The agenda of the fifth edition of Fenautics will be developed between next Saturday, June 8, from 10: 00 to 21: 30, and Sunday, June 9, from 10: 00 to 19: 00... access to the South Marina pier will be completely free and the program of this event will have more than 70 activities.
