Germany wins the first Sailing Champions League event held in SArenal
The German regatta team Norddeutscher Regatta Verein, composed of the athletes Florian Haufe, David Heitzig, Miklas Meyer and Dorian Heitzig, has been proclaimed champion of the first qualifying race of the Sailing Champions League organized this weekend at the Néutic 'Arenal Club.
A league of clubs worldwide that consists of three qualifying races and one final race. The CNA has been responsible for organizing the first of these teams involving 26 teams of 16 nationalities, including Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Once the test is completed, it is worth noting the fluidity of the J70 class vessels, provided by the IInternational Sailing League Association, which were able to complete all the planned tests reaching a maximum of 15 performed by each team.
The German team has certainly dominated the entire race by achieving the first post followed by Denmark and Switzerland. With regard to meteological conditions, a pre-domination of 'embat' wind of between 10 and 18 knots of intensity should be noted.
The next qualifying races will take place in Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, from 23 to 26 May, and in Saint Petersburg Yacht Club from 4 to 7 July.
