Las tripulaciones estarán compuestas por universitarios al cincuenta por ciento

The crews will be made up of 50 percent college students.

This weekend, the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia celebrates its well-known UPV Sailing Trophy, which for 22 years has brought this sport closer to the university community. The race, organized with the Politècnica University of Valencia, aims to promote the practice of sailing among the university students, so the crew of the participating ships must be composed of 50% of students, teachers, administrative staff and services or sports partners of the UPV.

There is no need to provide experience or nautical knowledge, only interest and desire to participate. In fact, in all the editions of this test many of the university participants have ended up permanently joining the race teams, becoming crew members for the entire season, and thus fulfilling the purpose of the test.

This year, as a novelty, the participation of Class A2 and Promotion has been introduced, which will join the rest of the fleet of Class 1, 2, 3 and 4. After the distribution of crew on the boats, the tests will be held on Saturday and Sunday at sea, which will consist of a coastal tour on Saturday and a barlovento-sotavento test on Sunday. After the tests at sea, students and regatists will be able to share a paella at the race base on both Saturday and Sunday, when the trophy will also be held.
